Bath rfc girls section
This season sees our first season where we have girls across all age grade groups, training and playing matches.
We train every Thursday evening, 6pm to 7:30pm at Lambridge Training Ground, Bath, BA1 6BD. We have a strong coaching team with support from our Ladies coaches and occassional guest coaches. We welcome players across all age groups, whether new to rugby or any level of experience. We offer a fun and safe environment for girls to develop their love of rugby.
U18s Girls – Most of our the players have come up through the age groups over the last several seasons, with a few players joining last year. They play in a cluster team with Bristol Pumas, playing matches most weekends.
U16s Girls – Most players have joined the club over the last year and were new to rugby. They have grown individually and as a team. They play in a cluster team with Bristol Pumas, playing matches most weekends.
U14s Girls – Our smallest group with a mix of players coming up from our mini’s section and players new to rugby. Occasional fixtures currently as numbers grow.
U12s Girls – Recently grown from our Love Rugby events we held last year. They play in the Somerset Pitch Up and Play events hosted monthly with occasional tournaments.

Meet The coaching Team
Joe Garlington
Junior Girls Head Coach
I am a qualified PE teacher and a RFU Level 2 Rugby Coach with experience coaching players from U4s to U18s.
I have worked with Stonyhurst College, The Paragon School, and on various rugby programmes in Spain.
In Madrid, I coached at Alcobendas Rugby and Paracuellos Rugby Unión, working with junior teams to develop their skills and game understanding, focusing on player development, team performance, and competitive rugby.
Beyond rugby, I have worked at the Sotogrande Talent Academy in southern Spain, coaching young athletes and supporting their development in multi-sport environments.
Now, as Head Coach for Bath Girls Rugby, I am dedicated to developing young female players and helping grow the game at a grassroots level.
Kelly Horton
Junior Girls Lead
With 11 years of experience as a hockey coach, I found my way into rugby through my daughter’s journey in the sport. After qualifying as a rugby coach last season, I’ve been dedicated to continuing my own development, always striving to improve my coaching skills. The thing I love most about coaching the junior girls is seeing them grow both as players and as individuals. I’m particularly passionate about coaching the technical aspects of rugby and helping the players enhance their ability to read and react in game situations. There's nothing more fulfilling than seeing them apply their skills under pressure.
Tom Harding
U12/ U14s Coach
I believe Rugby is more than the game. Rugby has the power to change lives, build confidence and bond lifelong friendships.
I’ve played Rugby in various forms since 1988 and saw the wider potential of the game while coaching and playing for the Future Hope Charity based in Kolkata, India.
I hope to inspire those I coach to push themselves beyond their own beliefs and develop a lifelong involvement with Rugby.
Dominic Goulder - Perks
Assistant/ Forwards Coach
I have been a coach for 6 years alongside a playing career of 10 years. From youth rugby all the way through to my senior career, I have coached various age groups at all different levels including working for the Premiership Team Bath Rugby as a coach for their community section.
I have a BSc in Sport Management and Coaching from the University of Bath and I'm currently pursuing a Masters in Sport Management.
My whole playing career I have played in the front row, so from a coaching perspective I bring knowledge of scrummaging/ lineouts and forward specific skills.
Eloise Horton
U12s Support Coach
I became a coach this season through the Impact programme, focusing on tackling techniques and introducing scrums to the U12s. With over four years of playing experience, including recent international appearances in New Zealand and France for 7s rugby, I’m excited to bring my skills and knowledge to the next generation of players.
As a player and captain for the U18s squad, I’ve learned the importance of leadership, teamwork, and dedication, and I’m passionate about passing on these lessons to young players. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the younger players grow, not only in their rugby abilities but also in their confidence and teamwork. Watching them progress on the field and knowing I’m part of their journey is what truly inspires me as a coach.

Pathways to success
At our club, we’re proud to offer a clear and supportive pathway for players of all ages. Our mixed Mini’s section provides a fun introduction to rugby, and as players move into secondary school, they can seamlessly transition into junior rugby.
This season, we’ve introduced a Ladies Pathway for our U18s. The first cohort was selected in February and is now training alongside the Ladies team, marking an exciting new chapter in supporting the transition from junior to adult rugby. This pathway is designed to empower young players, helping them make that important step into the senior ranks.
As a club, we are committed to developing talent at every level.
